Position:
Administrative Assistant II- Student Life
General
Description:
This position reports to the Coordinator of Student Life and is
responsible for answering the office phones, coordinating payroll,
purchasing, and other administrative activities. This position also
performs duties of a sensitive and confidential nature and provides
secretarial support to the Coordinator; scheduling appointments,
managing correspondence and filing. This position represents the College
to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, internal
and external customers involved in the College selection process.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of
college or equivalent work experience. Bachelor's
degree preferred.

4 years related
administrative experience. Additional education may be substituted for years
of related experience. Supervisory experience preferred.

Excellent oral and written
communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Answer
telephone, screen callers, relay messages, and greet visitors.

Open, sort, and screen mail.
Pick up and deliver materials as required.

Operate office equipment
such as photocopier, fax machine, and calculator.

Operate personal computer to
access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support
software.

Types and transcribes
routine correspondence, take meeting minutes, and report from dictation
or handwritten copies using personal computer.

Perform data entry
operations.

Assist with maintaining
calendar, scheduling appointments, and meeting rooms.

Assist with making routine
travel and accommodation arrangements.

File in alphanumeric order
and locate materials from files.

Assist with special events
planning.

Assists in formatting and
preparing manuscripts, grant proposals, statistical reports, tables, and
charts using knowledge of scientific, medial, literary, or other
technical terms.

Complete various request
forms for office supplies and equipment as directed.

Assist with and implements
office services such as payroll, purchasing, records control, projects
and budget accounting operations.

Assist and/or participate in
the preparation of the budget.

Interpret and communicate
operating policies.

Assist with the collection
and preparation of search and hire documents, financial and operational reports.

Locate and compile
information and format reports, graphs, tables, records, and other
sources of information.

Assembles and categorizes
facts and figures for written computation and calculations.

Uses various software
applications, such as spreadsheets, relational
databases, statistical packages, and graphics package to assemble,
manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
This

Salary:
The salary for this contract position is $17.44 per hour; 20 hours
per week.
