Position:
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, ATHLETICS - S10-046
General Description:
The Associate Director of Athletics at Baltimore City
Community College will assist in maintaining, organizing and
administering the overall program of interscholastic athletics,
including intramural/club activities. The Associate Director
shares responsibility for the overall direction, coordination and
evaluation of this unit. The Associate Director will be familiar with
and support the vision, mission and strategic plan of the college and
the Department of Athletics. The Associate Director will model and
integrate our core values throughout the execution of all duties and
responsibilities. The Associate Director of Athletics is required
to abide by the rules and regulations established by Baltimore City
Community College, MDJUCO, and the NJCAA. BCCC is a member of the
MDJUCO, and NJCAA Region XX at the Division II level.
Qualifications:
This position
requires a
Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master's degree. The required
experience includes but is not limited to the following: a minimum of
three (3) years of experience in mid-level sports
administration/management. Also knowledge of NJCAA rules and
regulations, effective organizational and administrative skills,
experience in planning, budgeting and the ability to effectively and
efficiently handle multiple, complex tasks and projects simultaneously.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills and experience working
in a multi-cultural environment.
Responsibilities:
Act as Academic Coordinator by supervising and monitoring academic
programs and study table. As Financial Aid Coordinator the employee will
evaluate alternate grants for athletes. Ensure all student-athletes
financial aid is complete. Supervise and monitor and develop a list of
all work-study students, interns and volunteers, including contact
information, designated work hours and job descriptions. As facilities
and maintenance coordinator, oversee and coordinate maintenance of
equipment, fields and gymnasium. Supervise and coordinate open gym,
intramural and club activities related to the Department of
Intercollegiate Athletics with personal integrity, honesty and ethics.
Conduct community outreach activities. Oversee and coordinate summer
camps and clinics. Assist the Director of Athletics with NJCAA
compliance and provide the necessary documentation for submission to the
NJCAA. The Director of Athletics will submit all information to NJCAA.
Assist the Director of Athletics with marketing and promotions of the
Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Assist with Student-Athlete
Advisory Committee. Assist the Director of Athletics with strategic
plans and self studies. Assist the Director of Athletics with
maintaining gender equity compliance. Assist the Director of Athletics
with game day operations, athletic events/activities and personnel.
Assist the Director of Athletics with development and fundraising
activities. Assist Director of Athletics in awards banquet preparation.
Assist Director of Athletics in Article VII Certification.
This

Salary
Range:
$52,944 - $59,624,
salary commensurate with
experience and based on a points system.
