Position:
Coordinator, Student Life
General
Description:
This position reports to the
Director of Student Life, Career Services and Transfer within the
Student Affairs Division. The Coordinator, Student Life position is an
integral part of Student Affairs, providing leadership oversight for the
development and implementation of a comprehensive student life program,
including leadership and personal development and providing advisory
support to the Student Governance Board which includes the campus
newspaper. The incumbent will provide collaborative support for other
campus programs and events to ensure a diverse and healthy campus
experience for members of the BCCC student body.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree
required. Master's degree in student development, counseling, or related
field preferred.

Three years of
student life experience
or equivalent related work experience required.

Supervisory
experience preferred.

Experience
working with urban populations preferred.

Experience
developing and/or implementing co-curricular programs.

Experience
working with student newspapers, clubs, and organizations.
-
Proficiency in
the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word
processing is required.
Responsibilities:
-
Manage and
document appropriate use of budget.
-
Oversee the maintenance of
tracking and compliance systems.

Advise all aspects of
student clubs engagement.

Oversee the supervision of
student clubs and organizations which include training and problem
resolution.

Evaluate performance and
make recommendations that motivate students to achieve organizational
goals.

Develop and
disseminate information for students and potential students through
presentations and publications and work in conjunction with both
on-campus and off-campus constituents.

Seek continuous improvement
of services and programs via developing accountability measures and
program outcomes.

Use data to make decisions
and research best practices to increase student success.

Coordinate monthly events
and activities calendar and leadership development opportunities for
BCCC students.

Develop student
planners/handbooks annually.

Chair co-curricular planning
committee and community service and service learning projects.

Supervise the development
and publication of the student newspaper (College Crier), Clubs and
Organizational Roundtable, Panther Pride Week programs and activities,
student mentoring as well as all first-week BCCC and welcome back
activities.
This
