Position:
Director of Student Life, Career Services and Transfer
General
Description:
This position reports to the
Dean of Student Development within the Student Affairs Division.
Responsibilities include management and leadership for the department of
Student Life, Career and Transfer Services. The incumbent will supervise
staff in three content areas and is responsible for the education and
services provided to BCCC students and developing a program that helps
students to navigate through the developmental life cycle from
engagement to employment and/or transfer.
Qualifications:

Master's degree
in counseling, human development, student personnel or related field required.

At least five years experience
as a counselor, human development, or student development professional.

Experience
working with urban populations preferred.

Supervisory
experience preferred.

Proficiency in
the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word
processing is required.
Responsibilities:
-
Develop and
monitor policies and procedures related to Student Life, Career Services
and Transfer Services.

Develop and manage
unrestricted and restricted budget operations.

Develop a model for
efficient and effective delivery of student services, researches, and
recommends
new and innovative programs to fully develop students in the areas of
the department.

Organize and implement
Honors and Awards programs at the end of each academic year.

Identify and recommend
technology that facilitates the delivery of services in the areas of
career planning, transfer and student life.

Work with colleagues within
the Student Affairs Division to connect services in ways to successfully
impact students.

Maintain knowledge of state
laws, regulations, and requirements as they relate to transfer and and
monitor changes; inform management regarding such changes.

Seek continuous improvement
of services and programs via developing accountability measures and
program outcomes.

Use data to make decisions
and research best practices to increase student success.

Participate in College-wide
committees to contribute to the advancement of the institution.

Participate as a member of
the divisional leadership team.

Work nights and weekends as
needed.

Provide instructional
support.

Use various software
applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical
packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate, and/or format
data and reports.

Apply working knowledge of
applicable laws and regulations, verify documents for completeness and
compliance.
This

Commensurate with experience.
