Position:  Recruitment & Admissions Advisor (International)

 

General Description:

This position reports to the Coordinator of Recruitment, Admissions and International Student Services within the Student Affairs Division.  A major responsibility includes assisting the Coordinator with meeting the 21-day data entry requirements for USCIS. The incumbent will support F-1 visa students and assist families with understanding U.S. government regulations. Issue immigration documents and assist with SEVIS reporting requirements and process legal and regulatory documentation pertaining to incoming and currently enrolled international students.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required and three years related experience advising international students at the college level. Substantial experience in the area of international advising may substitute for educational requirements.
  • Data entry and knowledge of standard business principles are essential.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal capability with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software applications required; especially Word and Excel.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Experience using a multi-line telephone.
  • Complete understanding of laws relevant to individuals holding non-immigrant and F-1 student visa.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
     

Responsibilities:

  • Update, compare, and manage several databases preserving students' confidentiality.
  • Prepare reports, review students' records for accuracy and completeness and ensure necessary changes are made to all data systems.
  • Maintain files and filing systems for the office, maintain general appearance/orderliness of office, and coordinate and schedule appointments for the Coordinator.
  • Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate, and/or format data and reports.
  • Apply working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, verify documents for completeness and compliance.

Salary:  Commensurate with experience.
