Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Marketing & Research
General
Description:
The
Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Marketing & Research
reports to the President and supports the mission of the College by
overseeing fundraising, marketing, research and College relations. As a
member of the executive management team, the Vice President for
Institutional Advancement, Marketing and Research participates in setting
broad organizational goals, objectives, and policies. The Vice President
for Institutional Advancement, Marketing and Research:
- Provides
leadership, vision, and supervision of all staff and budgets within
the offices and programs reporting to the position including the
Foundation, Development and Alumni Affairs, Marketing,
Communications and Research, Grants and Scholarships and Campus
Events and Community Outreach.
- Leads
external resource development efforts and serves as an ex officio
member of the Foundation Board.
- Oversees development
and implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan to include
news/media relations, marketing communications/publications, special
events, and web interactive communications.
- Creates and
utilizes management systems that optimize technology and support
sustainability efforts.
- Manages public
information and public relations locally and statewide; ensures
College visibility with national professional publications and
networks.
- Monitors
and oversees all grant submissions and awards.
- Administers
the dissemination of scholarship and emergency funds in
collaboration with Student Affairs.
- Seeks and
cultivates partnerships to enhance the mission and services of the
College.
Qualifications:
- The
successful candidate will be a senior officer with inspirational
leadership qualities, experience, and knowledge of the role of
marketing and institutional advancement in supporting the complex
mission of an urban-based community college.
- The
successful candidate should demonstrate experience with all phases
of development including the development of a strategic plan for
advancement and the execution of successful advancement campaigns in
coordination with senior staff and other members of the college
community.
- The Vice
President must have an understanding of development-specific technology,
the ability to assess and improve systems and processes to further
advancement goals, interpersonal and communication skills to enable
her/him to strengthen and lead the alumni and advancement programs
to new levels of success and the skills to conceptualize and execute
a communications campaign that reflects the institution’s history,
traditions and distinctiveness and which inspires and engages its constituencies.
- An advanced
degree is required. Experience in higher education and familiarity with
the philanthropic landscape of the Baltimore/Washington region is
highly desirable.
- The
successful candidate should be a strong communicator capable of
expressing ideas in a clear and concise manner.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible
to the President for all College-wide fundraising, marketing, and
external relations matters.
- Responsible
for establishing and maintaining College-wide fundraising objectives,
policies, programs, and practices which ensure the revenue requirements
are met for the College.
- Responsible
for short and long term fundraising planning, reporting, internal
control and compliance.
- Responsible
for achieving alumni relations, major gifts, and annual giving
goals.
- Responsible
for working with the President to identify major donor prospects and
to achieve fundraising goals.
- Responsible
for overseeing and approving all fundraising activities on the
campus.
- Responsible
for setting annual grant submission goals and overseeing grant
writing.
This

Salary:
The salary range for this full-time position is $110,257.
