Position:
Assistant Professor,
Allied Human Services
General Description:
Under the general direction of the Department Chair for Public
Services, Education and Social Sciences, the Assistant
Professor, Allied Human Services, will be responsible for the
instruction of students in the discipline of Allied Human Services, as
well as assuming the role of Coordinator of the program, coordinating
student internships and participating in course scheduling, book orders,
generating contracts, meeting with stakeholders and other related
duties.
Qualifications:
1.
Master’s Degree in Human Services/Social Work required,
Ph.D. preferred.
2.
Minimum of 3 years teaching experience (community college
preferred).
3.
Demonstrated and documented excellence in teaching and
learning.
4.
Computer literacy, including excellent word processing
skills and proficiency with database and presentation software.
5.
Experience working in a multi-cultural, community college
setting.
6.
Knowledge and experience in writing and designing Student
Learning Outcomes and Assessment.
7.
Excellent and effective English Language oral, written
and interpersonal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Teaching
courses in the Allied Human Services Program.
2. Coordinating
course schedules, book orders, generating contracts, maintaining contact
with targeted groups in the area of Allied Human Services, meeting with
the public and other stakeholders, providing information to prospective
students, answering telephone inquiries, and maintaining student
records.
3. Coordinating
the internships for students in the Allied Human Services program.
4. Assisting
in textbook selection and grant preparation as required.
5. Developing
or revising course syllabi/curricula as needed incorporating a variety
of instructional techniques.
6. Participating
in college and department meetings.
7. Maintaining
posted office hours, supervising and advising students in course
selection and counseling.
8. Choosing,
assigning students, entering agreements for practica, and monitoring
practica sites.
9. Accepting
special assignments which may be required to maintain the quality and
growth of the department.
10.
Participating in college recruitment activities with
emphasis on the Allied Human Services.
11.
Serving on college committees at the request of the
Department Chair.
12.
Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
This

Salary:
$49,043 -
$57,024
salary commensurate with
experience and based on a points system.
