Baltimore City Community College, responding to the Governor’s “Call to Action” to address workforce needs in high-demand career fields, has launched a major new initiative to make affordable, quality education more accessible than ever—through scholarships which can pay the entire cost of a two-year education!
BCCC is now providing more than 80 Workforce Creation Scholarships annually—including tuition, fees and books—to high school graduates, non-traditional students, veterans, single parents and ex-offenders.
More than $500,000 in new BCCC scholarships will be made available to students pursuing careers in the high-demand fields of construction, allied health/nursing, bioscience and teaching. The scholarship initiative makes BCCC the state’s first institution of higher education to step forward in response to the Governor’s call to address workforce needs in high-demand fields identified by both the Governor’s Workforce Investment Board and Baltimore Workforce Investment Board. BCCC Workforce Creation Scholarships are aimed specifically at providing direct pathways to growth-oriented careers for Marylanders, especially Baltimore City residents, and to increase the pipeline of well-prepared workers to secure Maryland’s economic future.
