Life at BCCC
As an urban institution serving a broad constituency—and the city’s only community college—BCCC offers a variety of activities and facilities rooted in academic programs, sports, services for the disabled, and government-funded initiatives. The College boasts numerous campus clubs and organizations, including a student newspaper and intercollegiate athletics teams in baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, and women’s volleyball, all affiliated with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). BCCC is a member of the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MDJUCO).
For currently enrolled students caring for children, the Clarence W. Blount Child Development Center provides licensed child day care services for children ages 2-12, both days and evenings.
Book stores conveniently located at the Liberty and Harbor Campuses, ATM machines, and a shuttle service between the Liberty and Harbor Campuses facilitate life at BCCC. The College’s Health and Wellness Center, staffed by a full-time Registered Nurse, Medical Assistant and part-time physician, complements the institution’s overall educational mission by fostering preventive health awareness and the removal of health-related barriers to learning. The Disability Support Services Center is an advocate for students with disabilities, ensuring they have the physical and programmatic access to all College programs affecting their acclimation into the campus community. WBJC 91.5 FM, the “Classical Voice of Baltimore City Community College,” is a primary affiliate of Public Radio International and the largest public radio station in Maryland.
