Statement on Ms. Niehoff’s Separation from BCCC
April 23, 2014, Ms. Susan Niehoff, no longer serves as vice president for business
and finance at Baltimore City Community College. This
decision was made to confirm the future direction of the business and
finance division. Dr. Carolyn Anderson, interim president, will name an
acting vice president for business and finance.

American World War II veterans who first integrated the Marines, recall
their experiences. The group was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in
June 2012 by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker John
veterans will be honored by the BCCC Office of Public Safety in a
presentation of colors. Thanks to all members of the History Club and
Office of Student Life for sponsoring this important and historic event.

Panther Pride Week: Panther Block “Paw”ty
The Office of Student Life, in conjunction with the Student
Government Association, presents the 2014 Panther Pride Week! All members
of the BCCC community are invited to take part in the activities planned as
part of this week.
Today, May 1, will feature the fourth
annual R.E.S.P.E.C.T. – Unlocking Matters of the Heart event.
This year’s conference, hosted by the Office of Student Life and the
Civility, Sensitivity and Diversity Planning Committee, will feature
sessions on dating and domestic violence, healthy relationships, gender
roles and LGBTQ issues. The event is set to take place from 10 a.m. to 2

A New Look and Feel for www.bccc.edu!
you ready for a new look? The College’s IAMR division has launched a
College website revitalization project to improve site navigation, content
consistency and visual look and appeal. The Website Advisory Group,
consisting of faculty and staff from across the college met on March 31 to
start the upgrade project. The website is being transformed using current
web trends, analytical data and best practices in higher education. The new
site will support mobile platforms and provide site architecture focused on
student, faculty and staff engagement.

Campus Window Cleaning to Start Next Month

cleaning contractor will begin cleaning all interior and exterior windows

- Middle States commendations for maintaining online
offerings of high quality
- Creating a culture of excellence in the Academic
- Having your course acknowledged on the QM website

Health Holiday Announcement
The Department of Budget and Management has announced its approval for FY14
employee health holidays during the month of April. Bi-weekly employees
will receive two health holidays. No health deductions (dental, medical and
prescription) will be taken from regular employee paychecks for these
health holidays on April 9 and April 23.
because April has three pay period ending dates for regular bi-weekly
employees, all health deductions (dental, medical, prescription, term life,
AD&D, Flex Spending and Long Term care) will be skipped for the pay
period ending date April 29. These will be reflected in paychecks issued

Life Sciences Building Update: Fourth Floor Now Open
fourth floor labs of the Life Sciences Building are now open. All students
should go to the fourth floor for their scheduled labs. Biology 102 lab
students should go to Room 409.
