The Faculty Retirement Dinner was a collegial and celebratory
event at the Hilton DoubleTree in Pikesville.
The retirees were Professors Lynn A. Kerr, Cynthia Webb, Tibor
Osztreicher, and Richard Danforth, who have given 113 years of their
collective lives to BCCC! Congratulations to all retirees, who move on to
new adventures and chapters of excellence in their lives.

Fitness Can Be Fun Games
Join students in the BCCC Physical
Therapy Assistant Program tomorrow, May 17 for the Fitness Can Be
Fun Games, 9 a.m. to noon on the Liberty Campus.
The day will consist of game competitions, a vendor fair and a
silent auction. Families are encouraged to come out and show their support.

Annual BCCC Fashion Show – Tomorrow!
The Fashion Design Program presents its 35th Spring Fashion
Show, “Ka’äs,” tomorrow, May 17, from 6-8 p.m. in the Physical
evokes the varied artistic expressions of students in the Fashion Show
Production class, who crafted and meticulously constructed original fashion
couture by hand, machine and computerized methods. The show is the product
of months of sweat equity by the students who achieved a level of skill and
creativity to design individual garments and fashion collections.

Campus Window Cleaning
reminder for faculty and staff: As of this week, our window cleaning
contractor has started to clean all interior and exterior windows on the
Liberty Campus, including the West and South Pavilion buildings. The
cleaning should take approximately 10 days. During this period, please
remove any items from interior window locations that may block

Internet Explorer Update
recently published Security Bulletin MS14-021, a
security update for the recent Internet Explorer (IE) problem, for all versions of IE and for use with
Windows XP, which is no longer a supported Operating System (OS).

to do anything - it was updated automatically. All LAN-connected PC systems
should be updated and any laptops that have not connected to the network
recently will need to process all windows updates to be secure.

browsers to include Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. These will be

Board of Trustees of The John J. Leidy Foundation, Inc. awarded the BCCC
Foundation $2,200 to put toward student scholarships. These scholarships
will be awarded for Fall 2014 semester students who reside in Maryland,
have demonstrated financial need and are in good academic standing.

you taught an online or hybrid course for more than four semesters, please
consider submitting your course for the Quality Matters (QM) review.
The advantages for having
your online or hybrid course QM recognized are:
- Personal and professional recognition of a high-quality online/hybrid course
- Middle States commendations for maintaining online
offerings of high quality
- Creating a culture of excellence in the Academic
- Having your course acknowledged on the QM website
Steps for having your online or
hybrid course QM recognized and timeline.
- Respond to this email and copy your associate dean
and dean, indicating your willingness and commitment to follow through
- Enroll and complete successfully the two-week
course called Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR). The
course is free for all attendees (a $25 per person technology fee will
be paid by the E-Learning Department). The course will be taught by
Diana Zilberman and offered from Wednesday, June 4 through
Wednesday, June 18.
