College Level Examination Program
(CLEP)

CLEP is administered as a computer-based test only. This examination is a series of individual tests for various college level courses that provide opportunities to gain college credit for knowledge acquired through independent study. You do not have to be a Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) student to take the tests. The BCCC, Liberty Campus location is an open test center that administers CLEP to the general public. On the day of the test candidates will indicate the college or institutions to which CLEP score reports are to be sent. Each college will evaluate individual score reports to determine whether college credit should be awarded.

CLEP has developed a free tool, the CLEP Sampler, to help you prepare for taking a CLEP test on the computer. It is a CD-ROM that comes with an edition of the Official Study Guide. It can also be downloaded from the College Board website. Detailed descriptions and downloadable study guides for each test are also available.
