Certified Phlebotomy Tech.


BCCC’s Test Center provides on-site testing for Certified Phlebotomy Tech. offered through the National Health Association (NHA). Test will be administered on the fourth Tuesday of each month except January, July,August and December. This certification exam is administered by paper andpencil.

Students must bring a valid photo ID and a registration confirmation from NHA. Late arrivals will not be seated.

As a Certified Phlebotomy Technician, you’lldraw blood from patients or donors in hospitals, blood banks, or similarfacilities for analysis or other medical purposes. You may perform some or allof the following duties:

  • Assemble equipment and disposable containers forneedles
  • Test for drug levels in the blood
  • Look for abnormal cells in the body and bodyfluids
  • Conduct patient interviews and take vital signs
  • Perform basic Phlebotomy procedures

Note: The Phlebotomy TechnicianCertification program (CPT) is accredited by the National Commission forCertifying Agencies (NCCA).     

Test results should be requested from NHA.
