Working Globally - Learning Locally

Description

Working Globally - Learning Locally.

BALTIMORE - Baltimore City Community College and Ellucian, a D.C.-based higher education technology and consulting firm, will co-host a 90-minute forum on how technology and globalization are shaping the 21st-century workplace.

“Working Globally – Learning Locally” will examine the technological transformation of the workforce and how education at the local level can prepare people to compete in a globalized setting. Critical to this discussion is the widely accepted notion that the development of human capital is vital to creating innovation and growth, and how technology can facilitate that development. From computers and smart phones to electric cars, robotics and online learning, technology has reshaped the human experience and the way we live and work.

As part of the event, participants from higher education, business and industry, and the community at large will have an opportunity to interact with a panel of experts on the impact of technology on workforce development and career preparation, and what this means both locally and globally.

The event is free and open to the public. A reception immediately follows, at which panelists and guests can continue their discussions. Due to limited space please RSVP by July 24 to Ellen Abdul-Rabb at 410-986-3219 or eabdul-rabb@bccc.edu.
