NSF-Funded Scholarships for Engineering and Technology Students Now
Available for Spring 2013 at BCCC
BALTIMORE - Students studying science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) at Baltimore City Community College are now eligible for scholarships which pay up to $4,150 per academic year beginning with the spring 2013 semester. The scholarships are funded under a new five-year $599,995 S-STEM– Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math – grant from the National Science Foundation established to increase the success rates of underrepresented minorities in these fields.
According to BCCC math professor Marianna Gleger, one of the scholarship coordinators, the college is accepting hard-working, dedicated students planning to enroll full time in an engineering transfer, computer assisted design or drafting, computer information systems,robotics technology or related technology program (health and clinical excluded) at BCCC for the full year. Applications will be accepted from high school (pre-university/secondary school) and first- and second-year college undergraduate/post-secondary students including those already enrolled in a developmental math course at BCCC.
