Your connection with BCCC formally begins by attending New Student Orientation! As your first point of contact, we are here to answer your questions, address your concerns, resolve problems, and to help you complete your first academic year at BCCC. We know that the first year of college can be challenging. The Office of First Year Experience (FYE) and College Honors encourages you to develop friendships with your peers and to establish mentoring relationships with faculty and staff as a support system. Throughout the semester, you will have the opportunity to attend workshops and seminars developed with new students in mind. They have been created to give you a chance to not only meet other students, but to be made aware of the many campus resources that will serve you throughout your entire college career. As a new student, you are part of the FYE program – a program designed to assist your transition to college life.
BCCC provides a comprehensive experience for FYE students such as:
- Mentoring new students in making the transition from high school to college.
- Enhancement of academic, personal & social development.
- Choosing the right major and graduating on time.
- Tailored front-end resources that assure student success.
