Dr. Tonja L. Ringgold
Vice President for Academic Affairs
Dr. Ringgold is Vice President for Academic Affairs and BCCC’s Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. She served as Assistant Secretary for Higher Education at the Maryland Higher Education Commission and as Campus Dean at the Community College of Baltimore, among other senior level positions in higher education.
Dr. Ringgold’s expertise includes E-learning, diversity and computer literacy. Her research on the Digital Divide was showcased at Oxford University, England. Dr. Ringgold was recognized by the Coalition of 100 Black Women for Excellence in Educational Leadership and received The Daily Record’s Innovator of the Year Award in Education in 2015. She has twice been a recipient of The Daily Record’s Maryland’s Top 100 Women.
Dr. Ringgold holds five academic degrees including an M.S. in Science in Applied Psychology from the University of Baltimore, an M.S. in Management and an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland University College, and a Doctorate in Education from Morgan State University.
