Office of Assessment

The Office of Assessment at Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) ensures data-driven decision-making by systematically collecting and analyzing valid and reliable assessment data. This supports academic excellence, institutional effectiveness, and accreditation compliance while informing course and program refinements, student services, and resource allocation.

By providing high-quality data, the Office helps enhance institutional planning and operations, reinforcing BCCC’s mission to deliver accessible, high-quality education to Baltimore City students.

Additionally, the Office supports the institutional Program Review Process and evaluates the relevance, viability, and cost-effectiveness of academic and non-academic programs.

The programs align with standards set by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR), and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), and other program focused accreditation and regulatory bodies.

On-demand video learning is available from the Faculty Tip of the Week YouTube playlist. These short, on-demand videos contain focused learning on specific topics in Canvas. The content varies from introductory Canvas navigation to more focused learning on course development and management.
