English Language Services

At BCCC’s English Language Services Department, we help students build the language skills needed for school, work, and life. Our programs include:

• English as a Second Language (ESL) – from Literacy to Advanced
• English for Academic Purposes (EAP) – prepare for college success
• English for Young Learners
• Citizenship preparation courses

Our pathway programs connect English learning with the next steps, whether that’s advancing to college programs at BCCC, joining job training through our workforce programs, or moving directly into the workforce. We also create customized English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses for businesses and community partners, blending language skills with career bridge and job readiness training.

Each year, more than 1,200 students from over 40 countries study with us at 10+ locations across Baltimore City and the surrounding areas. Students choose BCCC to strengthen their English, prepare for careers, and achieve their dreams.
