Twelve Month Budget
Effective February 2026
To be accepted as an International Student and receive a Form I-20 from Baltimore City Community College, a student must provide financial documentation that reflects the sponsor(s)’ financial willingness and ability to accept this financial burden for the entire length of the student’s program.
Financial documents must:
- Be no older than 3 months at the time of submission
- Be printed in English or officially translated to English
- Show at least 3 months of transactions, showing at least the *minimum balance below at the end of each month.
- Be accompanied by an affidavit from each sponsor, stating that they will be the sponsor of the student. We recommend that any sponsors residing in the USA use Form I-134, available at www.uscis.gov/forms.
The names on the bank statements must match the names on the Financial Support Statement, or affidavit. If the sponsor wants to use a business account as evidence of financial support, please contact us at international@bccc.edu to find out how. The financial burden to sponsor a student at BCCC is estimated as follows:
- Tuition and Fees ($280 per credit, 3,697 per semester for 12 credits + fees) = $7,394.00
- Living Expenses = $18,653.00
- Other (transportation, books, supplies, health insurance, etc.) = $18,002.00
Total yearly estimated living expenses* = $44,049.00
*Minimum balance required on financial support documents = $44,049.00
- Students who need a Form I-20 for dependents (spouse or children accompanying student in USA): Please provide financial documentation with an additional $2,000.00 for each dependent (spouses and children who will remain in the USA with the student).
- F-1 visa regulations require students to be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credits enrollment each semester for credit programs or ESL Pathway Program).
