Application Process

The Surgical Technology Program is limited access program with a maximum acceptance of 16 students per year. Students must compete all program prerequisites in order to be eligible to apply for admission into the Surgical Technology Program. Sciences must be completed within 5 years of entry into the program and must be passed with the grade of "C" or better. A grade point average of 2.5 is also required for consideration.  A separate application of admission to Baltimore City Community College should be completed prior to applying to the Surgical Technology program. New classes start in the Fall of each academic year.

PRE 100: Preparation for academic Achievement


ENG 101: English Writing


MAT 107: Statistics or MAT 128: Precalculus

3 or 4

SP 101: Fundamentals of Speech


BIO 101: General Biology

Applications should be submitted to Ms. Brittany Henderson,  Allied Health Special Admissions Advisor, Located in the Main Building, Room 100.


To apply to BCCC, follow these steps:


1.Submit a completed admissions application with a $10 application fee.

2.Submit a completed Maryland Residency Verification form.

3.Submit appropriate academic credentials to the Admissions Office:

         a. Official high school transcript(showing evidence of graduation);

         b. GED diploma (with a copy of your scores);

         c. Official college transcript (if transferring from another college)

4.Take the ACCUPLACER placement test.

5.Participate in New Student Orientation session, either online or in-person.
