• Good Afternoon BCCC Faculty and Staff:

I am writing to announce a change regarding the campus mask requirement.  Thankfully, the last few months have seen a reduction in COVID infections and illness.  While we are not completely out of the woods, most experts and the CDC agree that we can decrease restrictions.  Like other higher education institutions, BCCC will modify its mask mandate.

Starting Monday, March 6, 2023, wearing a mask will be optional in all BCCC common areas and in outdoor spaces, subject to the below:

    • At their discretion, professors may require students to wear masks in classrooms.  PPE will continue to be available in all classrooms, common areas, and offices and will be replenished as needed.
    • Individuals with a private office may require anyone visiting that office to wear a mask.
    • Where there are indoor gatherings of 10 or more individuals, masks must be worn.
    • Masks will continue to be required on all BCCC transit shuttles.
    • BCCC will continue to make masks, disinfectant wipes, and gloves available as requested.
    • BCCC will continue with COVID case reporting.
    • For questions and additional clarification, please consult your respective cabinet member; faculty should consult with their deans and/or associate deans.

As always, the CDC urges us to get vaccinated and boosted to the fullest extent possible.  Thank you for your support and commitment to our students!

                                    Regards.
