Clarence W. Blount Child Development Center
Due to COVID-19 we are CLOSED for the Fall semester.
The Clarence W. Blount Child Development Center (“The Center”) provides quality childcare services for the children of students who attend Baltimore City Community College. College faculty and staff may also utilize the services offered through the center. There are a limited number of spaces available for children from the local community.
The Center is licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education under the Office of Child Care and complies with all requirements for a licensed childcare facility.
Under the Department of Education, the Center has achieved a level rating of 4 out of 5 with the Maryland Excels Quality Improvement Program. The center shares membership in both the Baltimore City Childcare Association and the Maryland State Childcare Association.
The Center now offers infant and toddler care, and provides scholarships under the CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents In School) grant obtained through the U.S. Department of Education.
The Clarence W. Blount Child Development Center promotes quality and affordable childcare for children ages 9 months to 5 years. The Center employs professional staff members who are certified and trained to provide quality care to children in an educational environment. The staff also participates in the Credentialing Program of Maryland State Department of Education.
The Clarence W. Blount Child Development Center provides a safe, high quality, affordable, researched based educational program that promotes nurturing the whole child in a developmentally appropriate manner and that meets the needs of the children of Baltimore City Community College students, staff, and community.
