BCCC Mayor’s Scholars Program Now Accepting Applications for Third Cohort

(BALTIMORE – Feb. 14, 2020) Baltimore City Community College is accepting applications for the third cohort of the Mayor’s Scholars Program. Students who meet eligibility requirements can attend BCCC to earn an associate degree or complete a job training program, with tuition and fees paid through a last-dollar scholarship. The deadline to apply is May 15.

Launched in 2018 with the Baltimore Office of the Mayor to make college affordable, the Mayor’s Scholars Program (MSP) is a partnership between BCCC, the City of Baltimore and Baltimore City Public Schools. To be eligible, applicants must reside in Baltimore City and graduate from high school (or earn their GED®) this spring. There are no minimum GPA or income requirements for applying.

Prior to applying to MSP, students must first complete the FAFSA application by the March 1 deadline. Students not eligible to receive federal financial aid may complete the Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA).

Once accepted, MSP students must attend BCCC’s Summer Bridge program, a six-week orientation course designed to prepare them for the academic and social challenges of college. They must also enroll full-time at BCCC. For more information about the program, including additional requirements for participation, visit www.bccc.edu/msp.
