  • Adult Basic Education

    The BCCC Adult Basic Education (ABE) Department is a leader in helping adults achieve functional literacy and important life skills. BCCC is the largest provider of literacy services in Baltimore City. Classes are offered online and in-person.

    BCCC offers a basic computer literacy course that prepares ABE/GED students for the computer-based GED test by identifying and applying test-taking strategies, as well as enhancing digital literacy skills. 

    Must be at least 18 years of age and have not earned a high school diploma to be eligible for our free GED® Test Preparation or Basic Skills (Pre GED®) course. Take the placement assessment test to determine the appropriate class or classes in the program. Testing is available by appointment or walk-in. Please see testing times shown below.

Placement Testing Hours

  • Classes are at no cost to you, some classes meet virtually and others are in-person.

    Summer Test Center Hours (Allow 2 - 3 hours for Testing)
       
    Morning:

    Monday - Wednesday: Arrival time between 9:00 am - 10:00 am. (Closed Thursday and Friday for morning testing)

    Afternoon/Evening:

    Monday - Tuesday: Arrival time between 1 and 2 pm. (Closed Wednesday and Friday for afternoon/evening testing)

    Thursday: Arrival time between 4 and 6 pm.

    NOTE: Closed Daily for Lunch Break 12pm – 1pm
