  • Adult Basic Education

    The BCCC Adult Basic Education (ABE) Department is a leader in helping adults achieve functional literacy and important life skills. The BCCC is the largest provider of literacy services in Baltimore City. Classes are being offered online and in-person.

    To be eligible for our free GED® Test Preparation or Basic Skills (Pre GED®) course you must be at least 18 years of age and not have earned a high school diploma. Also, you must take the placement exam to determine the appropriate class.  Times for walk-in testing are shown below.

    For our ABE/GED students, we offer a basic computer literacy course that prepare them for the computer-based GED test by identifying and applying test-taking strategies as well as enhancing their digital literacy skills.

    Monday          9:00am-12:00 pm (arrive between 9:00 am and 10:30 am)                                                                     

    Tuesday         9:00am-12:00  pm (arrive between 9:00 am and 10:30 am)                                                   

    Wednesday    9:00 am-12:00 pm (arrive between 9:00 am and 10:30 am)                                                

    Thursday        4:00 -8:00 pm (arrive between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm)                                                       

    Friday             9:00am  (virtual testing by appointment only- contact nediger@bccc.edu)  

    Location:  710 E. Lombard Street, Room 61  

    (Just walk in, no appointment needed). Please wear a mask.     

    BCCC Harbor Campus is on 1st floor of Harbor Park Garage (parking is not validated) also located at Shot Tower/Market Place metro stop.

    The following transit lines have routes that pass near 710 E Lombard St, Bus: 71,76, Citylink Brown, Citylink Navy, Citylink Purple, Citylink Yellow, Rutland Avenue-Rutland Avenue.
