Residency

  • There are two tuition rates, one for State of Maryland residents and one for out-of-state and foreign non-immigrant residents. A person is considered a State resident who has been domiciled in Maryland for not less than three consecutive months prior to enrollment. Domicile means a person's permanent place of residence where physical presence and possessions are maintained and where the person intends to remain indefinitely. A foreign national admitted to the United States as a temporary student or non-immigrant visa may not be considered a resident. It is the responsibility of the student enrolling at the College to declare the proper residency status. A student discovered to have been improperly classified as a State resident will be reclassified as an out-of-state resident and will be required to pay the College the difference in tuition. Misrepresentation of residency to evade payment of out-of-state tuition may be cause for disciplinary action. If you are unsure of your USCIS status in the U.S., please contact the Recruitment, Admissions and Registration Office.
