Weatherization, in the broadest sense, is the practice of protecting a building – exterior and interior – from the elements. Energy efficiency is a fast-growing, international industry consisting of green technologies such as solar photovoltaic systems, wind turbines, and eco-building.The continuing education courses offered at Baltimore City Community College can help you enter or advance in careers in energy efficiency. Weatherization Installers and Technicians perform a variety of activities to weatherize homes and make them more energy efficient.In addition, workers may perform energy audits and advise clients on energy conservation measures. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in the Weatherization industry is expected to grow by 13% from 2012-2022.
