Program Learning Outcomes

  • Students are assessed at the course level. They are required to demonstrate proficiency in the basic sciences in order to be successful in their chosen careers in the field of science.

In Biology - Anatomy and Physiology – students will be assessed on the following:

    • Students will be expected to identify gross and microscopic anatomy of the excretory system – in lecture and LAB.
    • Students will be expected to explain the roles of excretory organs in the process of excreting waste products, regulating acid-base balance and blood volume – in lecture alone.
    • Students will be expected to identify gross and microscopic anatomy of the reproductive system – in lecture and LAB.
    • Students will be expected to explain the roles of reproductive organs in the process of embryology and child bearing.

Questions on the SLOs stated above will be embedded in the lecture exams, while questions on the gross and microscopic anatomy of the excretory system will be embedded in the LAB exams as well.

The format for the questions will be MCQs, True or False, and Fill in the blanks. In the lab practical exams, kidney models will be used.
