President Debra L. McCurdy’s Statement on Anti-Asian Violence and Xenophobia
(March 22, 2021) Baltimore City Community College condemns the recent incidents of racially motivated violence and xenophobic acts of harassment experienced by Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders across the country, specifically noting the deadly violence in Atlanta, Ga. Our faculty, staff and students stand in unity opposing hate, bias, and discrimination in all forms and denounce these egregious acts of violence perpetrated against Asian Americans and the Pacific Islander community.
We acknowledge the emotional toll members of our College community may experience witnessing these attacks, which have been on the rise since the start of the coronavirus. We are here to help, and encourage students, faculty and staff to seek support through College offered services.
