Timeline of BCCC Response

  • Baltimore City Community College has taken the following actions in response to the rapidly evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic:

    March 20:

    • BCCC moves to full Teleworking for faculty and staff. All staff must Telework, and all faculty are to teach classes through online instruction.
    • BCCC is open, with access to College buildings restricted to essential staff only.
    • Teleworking is currently scheduled through April 4. BCCC will continue to monitor and reassess.

    March 18:

    • BCCC campus is closed to all students. All labs are suspended.
    • All BCCC courses move to online instruction.
    • All off-site clinicals, fieldwork and internships are suspended. Faculty developing plans for students to make up missed clinical, lab and field placement work.
    • BCCC Student Services are available. Students may access remotely – online, video conferencing and phone.
    •  The Clarence W. Blount Child Development Center is closed.

    March 17:

    • BCCC transitions to Teleworking for majority of faculty and staff. All employees begin working remotely, with the exception of staff who are classified as “essential.”
    • Spring Break is rescheduled to March 30-April 5 (originally scheduled for April 6-12).

    March 16-17:

    • Classes are canceled for students.
    • BCCC conducts training for faculty in preparation for transition to online instruction.
