Faculty and Staff Update March 4, 2022

  • The Office of the President has received several questions about the continuation of the face mask mandate on campus.  As you may know, Governor Hogan has announced the end of the requirement for masks in State facilities in Maryland; masks are optional in State facilities.   The City of Baltimore has rescinded the order for the indoor mask mandate requirement as well, masks are optional.

Over the past week, I have engaged in many exchanges with the other two (2) year community colleges Presidents; some are maintaining their masks mandates for a select period of time or at least through the end of the Spring semester.  Several have communicated that masks will be optional.  For Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) we will continue to require the mask mandate throughout the campus, at least through the Spring Semester.  The requirement for the mask mandate is updated on the BCCC website and has also been communicated to the faculty and students through Canvas.

On a more positive note, we have “BCCC”  tee shirts for distribution to faculty and staff; please visit the Marketing office (room 143G ) located in the new administrative wing and pick up your shirt (wear your masks).  They will have your respective names.

    Stay BCCC Safe and Well!
