President
Debra L. McCurdy, Ph.D., the incoming president of Baltimore City Community College, is a celebrated leader in higher education with more than 30 years of experience as an administrator and campus president.

Becky L. Burrell
Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness
Over the past seven years Becky L. Burrell served in a similar capacity at Rhodes State College during Dr. McCurdy's presidency there, where in her role as Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Assistant to the President for Planning, she helped to foster a culture of shared governance. As part her duties she also oversaw the Offices of Assessment and Quality Improvement, Institutional Research and Institutional Grants.

Stephan A. Byam
Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Mr. Byam is an innovative information technology strategist and tactical leader. He comes to BCCC from LeMoyne-Owen College in Tennessee where he served as the Vice President of Information Technology/Chief Information Officer directing the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of operations to improve cost effectiveness, service, quality and mission development.

Lyllis M. Green
Chief Internal Auditor
Ms. Green is a veteran auditor with more than 30 years’ experience as a certified internal auditor. She oversees all audit activities at BCCC to facilitate a culture of compliance through policies and procedures, implementation, enforcement and review. Ms. Green advises several committees and groups including BCCC’s Enterprise Resource Planning System’s core team.

Liesl B. Jones
Vice President of Academic Affairs
Dr. Liesl Jones has over 20 years of progressive experience and leadership in higher education earning the rank of Professor of Biological Sciences; previously serving as Chair of Biological Sciences, Chair of Chemistry and Chair of the Neuroscience Doctoral Subprogram.

Dawn Kirstaetter
Vice President for Advancement and Strategic Partnerships
Ms. Kirstaetter is responsible for fundraising, alumni affairs, communications, marketing and strategic partnerships in addition to serving as BCCC's primary liaison to the Office of the Mayor of Baltimore City, City Hall and city agencies.

Maria E. Rodriguez
General Counsel
Ms. Rodriguez comes to BCCC following 23 years with Venable LLP in Baltimore, where she was a partner and commercial and labor litigator for small and multi-million dollar litigations involving statutory, tort, contract and common law claims. She has extensive experience before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Courts of Appeals with employment and benefit disputes involving Title VII, American Disabilities Act, age discrimination and employee retirement.

Michael D. Thomas
Vice President for Workforce Development and Continuing Education
Mr. Thomas is Vice President for Workforce Development and Continuing Education, a division that works with businesses, government agencies, and professional associations to identify training needs for the people of Baltimore. Mr. Thomas leads a team that develops innovative credit and noncredit courses and programs focused on opportunities for job readiness and lifelong learning at four sites throughout Baltimore City.
